Principal Landscape Architect
Richard is our super cycling, eco-conscious adventurer.
A Principal Landscape Architect who started with us in May 2016, Richard has over 13 years’ cumulative industry experience and gained professional Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) in 2014.
Gaining both a Post Graduate Diploma (Masters) and BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture from Leeds Metropolitan University, Richard set about furthering his professional capabilities with a mix of study and theory via an array of exciting projects around the UK.
Richard firmly believes in the ecological aspects of design in the built environment, maximising resilience and biodiversity. His active approach to respecting a site’s natural capital and creating ecologically rich solutions is combined with a pragmatic mind-set to buildability and long-term management.
His core specialism is focused on the education sector and Richard has an impressive portfolio of design, planning and re-development projects for a range of schools, academies and universities.
Adding value for clients through a depth of knowledge, professional judgement and commitment to each project from inception to completion, sees Richard completely dedicated in each project, interacting with the client and key stakeholders alike to best understand what is needed and how to ensure an enriched outcome.
Richard enjoys the supportive team environment at the Toffee Factory, in which being inquisitive and curious is welcomed and leveraged to explore new avenues alongside knowledgeable colleagues.
In his spare time, Richard is a keen cyclist having previously completed the Coast to Coast, and enjoys getting out into the countryside at any opportunity, particularly to spend quality time with his family.
