what we do
We provide landscape architecture and urban design services across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility, planning and estate strategy through to detailed delivery and long-term stewardship.
Our strength comes from combining design ambition, nature-based problem solving, technical depth and practical judgement. This helps clients navigate difficult sites and create places that are coherent, deliverable and built to last.
Our work takes us into some of the UK’s most demanding project environments, from operational schools and hospitals to secure defence estates, renewable energy infrastructure and major regeneration sites. Different sectors bring different pressures, but the fundamentals remain the same: understand the place, work intelligently with natural systems, communicate clearly and develop solutions that can be delivered.
Landscape Strategy & Masterplanning
Landscape provides structure from the outset. We develop strategies and masterplans that coordinate movement, built form, levels, water, ecology and identity, establishing a clear framework for development. By resolving these relationships early, we help teams make confident decisions, respond intelligently to site constraints and create coherent places with lasting environmental, social and commercial value.

Public Realm, Regeneration & Universities
We design streets, squares, parks, civic spaces and university campuses that are generous, legible and rooted in place. Our work balances movement, ecology, heritage and public life with the practical demands of access, servicing, maintenance and delivery. The result is public realm with a clear identity that supports everyday use and becomes richer through occupation and time.

Education Landscapes
We create inclusive, nature-rich education landscapes that extend learning beyond the building. Outdoor learning, play, sport, biodiversity, water management, shade and social life are brought together within a clear and deliverable landscape structure.
Through DfE Technical Advisory Services 2025 and Contractor Framework 2025, we support projects from feasibility and estate capacity studies through procurement, design development and delivery. Our experience of BB103, BB104, Schedule of Places and Technical Manual requirements helps us resolve levels, drainage, safeguarding, access, trees and existing estate constraints on real and often demanding sites.

Healthcare Landscapes
We create accessible, restorative landscapes that support health, recovery and wellbeing. Therapeutic gardens, clear circulation, climate-responsive planting, sustainable drainage and biodiversity are integrated with the operational realities of healthcare estates. Our approach combines biophilic design with technical rigour, resilience and an understanding of how landscapes will be used, maintained and experienced over the long term.

Housing & Neighbourhoods
We design residential landscapes that make everyday life better. Homes, streets, gardens, play, movement, water and nature are brought together to create generous, legible neighbourhoods with a strong sense of place.
From early masterplanning and planning strategy through to detailed design and delivery, we respond to density, levels, drainage, ecology, access and existing character. This helps realise site potential while balancing commercial and planning requirements with biodiversity, climate resilience and long-term stewardship.

Landscape Planning, Design & LVIA
Successful development starts with understanding the landscape. We combine landscape planning, design and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment to identify opportunities, manage planning risk and shape proposals that respond positively to their setting.
Assessment is integral to our design process. By introducing landscape and visual evidence early, we can test ideas, influence layouts and built form, develop effective mitigation and give clients the clarity needed to move proposals forward with confidence.
Landscape Planning
Good landscape planning does more than identify constraints; it reveals where and how development can sit well. We analyse landscape character, visual relationships, sensitivity, capacity, green infrastructure and wider context to inform development strategy and design decisions. Working alongside clients, planners, architects and engineers, we help establish where landscape should lead and how mitigation can become a positive part of the proposal.
Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment
We prepare robust, proportionate LVIAs in accordance with GLVIA3, relevant Landscape Institute Technical Guidance and, where appropriate, NatureScot guidance. Our assessments provide clear evidence of potential effects on landscape character and visual amenity.
We treat LVIA as an iterative design tool, allowing viewpoints, landscape character and visual effects to influence proposals as they develop. This enables mitigation to be designed in from the outset rather than added retrospectively.

Visualisation, Public Consultation & Communication
Clear communication helps people understand both what is proposed and how a place may change. We deliver and coordinate verified photography and surveying, Accurate Visual Representations, photomontages, wirelines, GIS analysis, digital modelling and consultation graphics.
These tools translate complex spatial and technical information for communities, decision-makers, consultees and project teams while remaining fully coordinated with the landscape assessment and design strategy.
Nature-based design
Nature is one of the fundamental tools we design with. We work with soils, water, planting, tree canopy, habitat and microclimate to respond to site conditions and solve practical challenges. Collaboration with tree, ecology and soil specialists brings deeper understanding of each site, helping us protect existing assets and create the conditions for landscapes to thrive.
Our nature-based solutions manage rainfall, moderate heat, support biodiversity and improve wellbeing while creating richer, more memorable places. We use assessment tools including Urban Greening Factor (UGF) and the Environmental Benefits from Nature Tool (EBNT) to help clients compare options, understand environmental benefits and make informed investment decisions. By integrating specialist knowledge and assessment from the outset, we can address several project requirements through one coherent landscape response.
Technical advisory & delivery
We provide clear, independent advice throughout feasibility, procurement, design and delivery. Our role is to protect design intent while aligning ambition with buildability, programme and cost. Through our landscape technical advisory work across the UK education estate, we support multidisciplinary adviser teams in assessing site capacity, shaping project briefs and reviewing design proposals, helping clients make informed decisions and secure lasting value from investment in outdoor spaces.
Technical coordination, BIM and digital workflows, specification, detailing and experienced construction-stage support help us identify issues early and resolve them collaboratively. Our horticultural knowledge and understanding of soils, planting and establishment sit alongside practical expertise in levels, drainage and materials, ensuring landscapes are designed to thrive as well as built to last. From reviewing feasibility options to supporting delivery and long-term management, we help teams manage risk, maintain quality and carry landscape ambition successfully from concept into built reality.
Maintenance & Stewardship
We plan for what happens after completion. Our management and maintenance strategies support successful establishment, seasonal change, adaptation and long-term performance.
By considering materials, planting, care requirements and future change throughout the design process, we create landscapes that mature well, remain practical to manage and become more valuable over time.
